Chinatown LA: Restaurants, Beer and Wine Store Headed to Chinatown
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES — Plans are in motion to bring four restaurants and a beer and wine store with a tasting room to the ground floor of Chinatown’s Jia Apartments.
According to documents filed with the Department of City Planning, the five spaces total 13,803 square feet and will provide indoor seating for 366 people and another 87 patio seats.
Kate Bartolo, a land-use representative for Equity Residential, which opened the$93 million housing complex at 639 N. Broadway in January, said the developers have been looking for a mix of high-quality restaurants to move into the spaces along Broadway and Cesar Chavez Avenue. Though Bartolo would not reveal the identity of the potential tenants, she said the spaces are intended to be a draw for residents of the building’s 280 apartments.
